In his attempt to break the world record for the deepest descent by a scuba diver, Neal Watson, Sr. had his left hand placed in handcuffs and secured to the 440 foot long steel cable that was serving as the descent line. It was a thoughtful gesture for the Watson family in case something went wrong hoping they would be able to retrieve his body for proper burial, if the sharks didn’t get to it first. Neal’s attempt was successful and he now holds the Guinness Book of World Record for the Deepest Dive on Compressed Air / 437 ft.
For those of you that know Neal well we are all assuming the proper burial would have been at sea!
